Why Are Guys Obsessed With Asian Chicks?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(El-Diablos @ Jan 4 2006, 05:09 AM)
Actually Japanese women are not considered Asians and they tend to get offended when people say that. Also Indian women as well fall under the nationalist category.

But still considered (or known as) asians by the general public. Because they are in Asia.

From what I've seen of Japanese women they tend to do what their families want them to still. So if mom doesn't like the American boyfriend - he gets kicked to the curb. Not all of them are like this (I have a friend who got married to an American, but she's more American), but I know a lot of them are.

The old customs apply mostly to the rich and conservative. Although most of the Japanese population are nationalists. They stick to their own people. I had a hard time making friends when I lived there. I was the weird one, the loner, the minority. But as I said, there are exceptions.

Kinda know how minorities feel towards large groups. Like Mexicans and African-Americans in the US. Althought here were I live, there are more Latinos than Americans. Americans is a minority now. ~giggle~

I know, weird. However, that's another story...

It isn't a race but a class that holds power over "minorities". Race isn't as a relative factor anymore as financial class.

I've dated 3 asian chicks in my time and never again. I've come to the conclusion...

1. They are all insane

2. Opinionated about every God damned thing you can think of

3. Drama Queens

4. Self Centered Parris Hilton wannabe's

5. 1 out of 3 is any good in the sack

I know by just what you posted that you actually have dated an asian.

1. yes and if they come from a poorer asian country they have very weird and old superstitions.

2. Totally agree. Not so much opinionated as want to control everything around them.

3. Agree

4. I know 12+ real asians (not from america) women and anytime you talk about something not involving them they interject something about themselves that has nothing to do with the conversation. Funny is when you get them each alone and they backstab their friends and merely mention someone is prettier than them and they get VERY pissy.

5. ROFL yep just lay theres lol.

You forgot number 6.

6. They don't know how to talk in any other volume but high pitch loud.

There are degrees though and trust me Asian women are the extreme version of that scale.

True! Hehe, My boss is latina. ~giggle~

However, race is still a mayor factor. Whites still control the highest positions. And males to that. When would it be the day when you see a Latino, AA, or a woman as president? ~giggle~

And as far as a woman president? I would vote for Hilary just cause I know what we have now. Would you agree that men and women are hormonially different? That women tend to be more emotionally irrational than men? Men nor women will never be equal for as long as men cannot get pregnant. It is a nice principle and we can get close but in the end men and women can never be equal as we are both different.

One side note, some women want equality but they still want you to hold open the door for them. Another example I enjoy is Tennis. Women players want equal money as male players. But they stopped complaining about it the moment the Tennis Association said O.k. but you got to play best out of 5 sets vs best out of 3 sets. I see women all the time use them "being a woman" and using it to their advantage. And trust me I used to hang with a bunch of girls from my old works and just as with human nature they played being a woman when it suited them.
Fact of any matter is there is no such thing as equality. It is a great principle on paper but in the real world you can never have everyone equal all the time. I think everyone should have equal oppurtunities but I do not think that someone should get a position cause they are black, white, women or man, but because you are qualified. And as long as humans are humans, no one race, or gender will ever be equal to another as it always shifts.

I have strong female and mulit-racial environment from growing up so please don't think I am sexist or racist. I am trying to say that no one wants to be equal, they want to be on the winning side of power.

You mean like your comment about Japanese nationalism? Sometimes generalization, while still general and don't pinpoint every single person of that culture, is more right than wrong. Is every person going to be exactly the same way? No but if you have a culturally crafted habits, then playing the % game you stand a better chance of being right.

Pretty much the fact that we are talking about how another race behaves encourages stereotyping.

It's like this idea I keep mentioning how if you even realize that racism exists, that means you're already racist yourself (although to a lesser degree than most people think of the term "racist" as meaning) because you can't know racism exists without recognizing that there *are* other races - which means at the very least you think they are different.

People from Japan think santa is from Denmark or Finnland (cant remember)

They wont acknowledge he might live elsewhere (NORTH POLE?)

Well there will always be people who won't like someone cause of how they look cause let's face it. It is the easiest excuse not to like a person. But you stating about sterotyping I disagree with. In the stricktest sense of stereotyping, is saying EVERYONE is that way. What I am saying is based on cultural traditions passed on from generation to generation you stand alot better chance of being right than you do of being wrong. My question do you believe that races have a certain set of customs or traditions?

Now, if I see let's say someone who is of Indian decent here in this country but, he/she is 2nd generation american, I am not going to say "yep he/she will have an arranged marriage.". Now if I meet a person that is from India, would you suspect that he/she would have an arranged marriage based on cultural traditions?

My point is where does stereotyping come from? It comes from a larger % of that particular culture having a KNOWN tradition that many of us experience. Now should anyone just slap a label on a person and be done with it? No, but being AWARE of a cultural tradition that might not be beneficial to your belief system is good thing to be aware of when engaging in a relationship as per Timi's point.
