And, The TRANSFORMERS Appearing In The Film Are...

*Optimus jumps into the air and blasts wholes through about 20 decepticons*

Yeah but the TV movies are where a lot of the shit Artica and others were chirping about happened. Like the Plaque and all that crap.

One theatrical movie, several TV movies.

I'll ask my friend, she is the Transformer's expert. :D

I don't remember exactly, but she was telling me it was one of the Rare items for collectors.

She's kind of a freak, 26 yo and her bed has transformers sheets. Not just transformers to that, also macross and some others 80s anime & animation themes. :P

"You got the touch, doo doo, you got the powerrrrrrrrrrrrrr, YEAH!!!!"

i loved the cheese factor

I have most if not all of the TV movies after the film on VHS and some on DVD now. B)
Up to Season 2 on DVD too I think. I need to get the others sometime.

No Soundwave because I read the whole minaturization thing was out.
I read a rumour he would be in it called Soundbyte? :o  So basically a mini robot who turned into a boom box type. Thank god that didn't happen.
They are treating this as a whole new thing to try and start a movie run off I think.
/shrug I'll still watch it. We know we will go and see it out of curiosity.

I won't see it. To me, there's Japanese animation, and "anime". Japanese animation is simply old school kickass cartoons, like the original transformers, then there's this overexagerated Pokemon bullshit like the new Transformers, etc just to make bucks off the fat kids that hang 'round bookstores all day staring at Hentai. Fuck that, s'all I have to say.

Yes Cybertron/Energon is shit. <_< I've seen a few and I just can't keep up! They transform in a blurry second, have no clue who is who because it all goes to quick and the kids are annoying.
The Transformers comics though are EXCELLENT! B)

Apprarently Paramount made studies and concluded that the TF "ANNOUNCEMENT" was the 2nd highest rated "teaser" this summer.

Even though I still have loads of the classic toys sitting in a box in the garage I get tempted to buy a few at times. :D
This is the best but I need to find a spot for it.

I recently got one of the Star Wars transformers too. Darth Maul, but most aren't great.

And I WILL get some of these when they come out for sure! B)

Japanese animation and Anime are the same thing. :P

60s Anime, 70s Anime, 80s Anime, 90s Anime, etc... As everything there are some bad and there are some good. Ya have to aim higher to view the good ones. Pokemon, Digimon, Monster Rancher, Harvest Moon, YugiOh, etc. It's all the same. Anime for kids. Same as Transformers was in it's era. You have an adventure which ends with a moral to the story, to teach kids a lesson while having fun. This type of anime usually suck.

Transformers is good because it was your childhood cartoon, remembrance of the past. If it was a happy life and Transformers had a part of that happiness, then you will always accept it as something better than what there is now. Althought is practically the same. Transformers, Mazinger Z, Astroboy... All those are the same type, in which they gave a moral to the story on each episode.

Others like Voltron, Macross (Japanese Version), Candy Candy, Heidi, Secret Garden, etc. They were based in novels. No morals to the story, lots of drama, not originally created for kids.

What US did to Robotech and Voltron in the complete change of storyline just to fit in as kids cartoons, that is a crime. But that's another story....

As for me, what I like about Transformers were the two movies that I saw. Saw a couple of TV episodes, but it was not the same.

I just hate how they butchered them with the new episodes, and no, the original transformers were not liked because of remembrance, I STILL watch and enjoy them for what they are, bad ass.

Same thing that a kid that grew up with pokemon will tell ya in 10 or 20 years from now ;)

Transformers isn't 'anime' in any sense other then it's a cartoon.

The movie is based off of the original, except they are changing some of the 'bots transformations to make them seem a bit more plausible. Megatron as a gun wouldn't last 5 minutes in a live action movie like this.

Yeah, my friend just responded. The transformers we know and love is an American cartoon based on a three part manga that came up in Japan in 1968. Everyone just knows it by the television series that aired in 1984, and then the movie in 1986.

However, there was a movie realesed in Japan in 1989 called Decepticons. Actually, a point of view of how the world would be if the decepticons had won the war against the autobots. It was never realesed in the US because it was thought as anti-American sentiment. Like saying Autobots (US) and Decepticons (USSR).

The three volume manga didn't had an impact in Japan, that's why is so obscure and rare. It had an impact after it was remade in US and turned into a cartoon.

That's all she said about it.
