Wookiees Didn't Get Love In ANH

OK, so i just watched A New Hope for the first time in about 5 years. And not those crappy new DVD versions. I'm talking about the original VHS, with no THX or all that crap. THE ORIGINAL. Now, I watched the movie with a conscious mind of all the Star Wars games i've played and the new trilogy as well. I must say, the new trilogy fits seamlessly into the refereances in ANH. Anyway, aside from the groovy hairdos and crappy Special Effects, I noticed that the rebellion did not give any love to Wookiees.

If you have the original version of ANH handy, fast forward to the very end, to the Award Ceremony (which takes place in the future Jedi Academy, or Temple of Exar Kun). Luke, Han, and Chewbacca walk down the aisle to be presented with honorable medals. Leia presents Han with a medal. Then she presents Luke with a medal. Then R2 pops out all happy, and everyone smiles. And then, they turn around smiling amidst a cheering crowd, and then it fades out to the credits. Chewbacca is even cut off, only showing his partial right side (remember, this is the original ANH, before widescreen). What about Chewie's medal? How come Leia didn't present him with one? To all the Wookiees who have been falsely led to believe that the Empire is the oppressor and the Rebellion isn't, think about this again. How come only the humans got the medals and the Wookiee didn't?

Thanks! now you've dashed all my dreams of working for the rebellion.........Now I have to get rid of my -5000 imperial faction and get a boat load to go imperial

I hate you! you suck!

1. You're kidding right? The plot holes opened by the new trilogy do anything but fit seamlessly in.

2. Well if it was anything like SWG, Leia gave Chewy the reward for the "Blow up the Death Star" quest, and it is a necklace that got placed in his inventory. Luke and Han quickly equip their new rewards for all to see, but poor Chewy clicks to equip it and gets the "Can not equip this item" error message all Wooks get when trying to equip any necklace....hence the roar right at the very end as they are paning out.

OMG!

They do love the Wookiees. Especially Han. He and Chewy go to liberate Kashyyyk from it's opression after the battle of Endor was done. When the New Republic was forming, and didn't have enough troops to send.

You guys know why Chewy did the life debt thingy to Han?! If you know and can point me in the right direction... To read about it. :)

*And as a plus note, the original was not in VHS... It was in Betamax... VHS didn't existed back then.

*Fluffy is a special wook.

You missed the MTV Movie Awards bit, eh?
Carrie Fisher did indeed correct her error from the end of ANH by awarding Chewbacca his medal... eventually.

That's 'cause we're off doing better thing than getting a medal infront of 300 cardboard cutouts.
[/b]

Better off without jetpacks too. :D
