Update on the Image Gallery

I bought and installed Invision Gallery. So if you see a link that says Gallery next to Blogs at the top of the forum, that is what it is. Of course, you can't access it You can still access the old gallery via the old link on the top page navigation or left page navigation. I have both good news and bad news.

Good News:

• I was able to import all images and was able to keep folder structure
• All those "broken" images in the old gallery work properly in the new gallery
• The new gallery is much faster and cleaner than the old gallery
• Uploading images is much easier, cause it uses the forum system. So adding an image is just like creating a new post or reply on the forums
• You can report images just like posts, unlike in the old album

Bad News:

• Correct owners of all images did not transfer over (so all 232 images are owned by me lol)
• Time and date of uploads did not transfer
• Comments did not transfer
• Titles and Captions did not transfer

But don't worry, i'm already working on turning the bad news into good news. Pretty much I have to go through each of the 232 files individually and adjust their owners, titles, and captions. This will require TWO passes. The first pass will be to change the owners. The second pass will be to change the titles and captions. I am UNCERTAIN as to whether or not I can fix the upload dates. My best guess is changing the hard code in the Database tables. If this proves to be successful, i will do a THIRD run on each image to adjust the dates. Lastly, comments cannot be restored. Unless i do the Database method listed above, but the work required for that will be way too much (posting each comment and reply individually, and then going through each comment via the database and editing it, while finding out member ID codes, etc).
