House on the beach on Koh Phangan island booked an paid up for 6 months.

Plane flight booked from Heathrow to Bangkok on the 29th of October.

And then they go and have some dumbass military coup and there are tanks on the streets in the capital city!

Sod it I'm going anyway, I was in Tel Aviv when the gulf war fired up, this will be a walk in the park compared to that.

This is a quite an event, Thailand might be kinda third world in places but by western standards they are far from primitive. Not your average south American dictatorship funded by banana farming and coke smuggling.

PM overthrown.
Cabinet sacked.

Heavy shit man, I'm impressed, wish I had actually been there this month to see this happen.

Actually I should probably explain something about the current (or maybe no now) Thai prime minister.

This is a guy that openly tells journalists that he thinks he has had black magic curses placed upon him so he goes to chicken killing black magic sessions himself to counter it.

The same guy that last month was pretty much declared clinically insane by a group of medics. he did of course ask for a second opinion.

So he had this coming, but even so, still kinda interesting :)
