TIE fighter cut scenes

What are you trying to do?
 
play the game? :P i get sound now, but no music. however the sound stutters, and the graphics in TIE Fighter must be set to the lowest resolution setting or they get screwed up. also, it refuses to recognize my joystick. same thing happened on my win2000 comp back home. this is xp pro
 
Are you trying to run the originals or the CD versions?
I must say it's not too XP compatible but the last CD versions they brought out were ok.
I don't play TIE anymore. I much prefer the missions in X-WING and just being Rebel. B)

That price is way too high though. It's cheaper in this country. Should be a budget price item. Also those screenshots suck, its better than the floppy versions.
 
I'm not sure on the TIE problems right now. :( Been so long since I loaded the TIE cd I don't know if mine works ok. Maybe someone else knows tomorrow. If I find time :o to install it, I'll have a look.
I recommend browsing http://www.xwaupgrade.com/ forums. LucasArts section I think.
It's the most active XW/TIE site out there still I think. And usually theres "some" helpful ppl around. Active forum there.
People there play all the games and are more current with it than I am now. Also its a very cool site. B)

I ran across this today.
How To: Run TIE Fighter Collector?s CD Edition in Windows XP
The miracle answer to all of this is an OpenSource DOS emulation tool called The VDMSound Project. It works with Windows XP (SP2 ? not sure about SP1), 2000, and NT, but not Windows 95. There's supposed to be some patches but they're not on LucasArts site.
Also the Win compatibility program works too.
