Thundercats Hoooo!!

OK This changes things.

Studio has optioned a script by tyro scribe Paul Sopocy to turn the popular 1980s animated series and toy line into a CGI-animated feature.

I was looking at the article again and thought " how did I miss that".
It seems Variety must have gone back and corrected themselves as the Live Action part is on other sites too.

So sorry for all you actor guessers. But c'mon Beast in X3 looked ok but it would have been a whole film of actors in furry makeup!

If they follow Final Fantasy footsteps, there is good CG animation out there. :p If they follow Shrek... I don't expect much out of it.

I liked the Thundercats as much as anyone back in the day, but until you corrected the thread and said it was CGI I thought the movie would be horrible. Now I think CGI might make it ok.

I was not a big Thundercats fan, though I was a fan of Transformers and G. I. Joe.

Mark Hamill though is a great voice actor, be nice to see him used.

Katey Segal (I think I spelled her name right was a good voice actress...played Peggy Bundy on Married with Children, was Hyde's mom on That 70s Show, played Leela on Futurama)

CGI? meh but i suppose it would be better than live action.....then agian the live action version of this would end up like he-man with dolph lungren....or however you spell it....yeah that was a horrible movie

It doesn't matter who they get to play he-man. This film will suck, horribly. :p

Can't be worse than the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe movie from what late 80s, early 90s.....

I think Dolph Ludgrin played He-Man in it......

What's the name of the guy that played Colossus in the X-Men films, he's got the right size probably to play He-Man....

There is a lot more technology now that in the late 80s. They can make a good movie if they get the budget. Also if they get good screenplay writers and what not. It all depends on who makes it and the budget.

The Japanese have a lot of live action movies (coming from stories in anime, manga and video games) which are low budget and are still good movies, compelling stories so to speak. :p
