A historical double, winning the Olympics and World Championships in the same year. Yup yup, sweden rules in hockey!

at least hockey matters in other countries. Yesterday I got my yearly dose of hockey. I watched an entire 2 minutes and 21 seconds of an NHL game on TV, because the Cubs-Sox game had just ended and the bartender changed the channel to hockey. After those 2:21 minutes, I went back to work.

Baseball, the americans lose the world cup and decide the tournament is outdated and cancels it, heh.

Well Hockey is kind of a national sport over here, along with soccer.
 
I'm not a big baseball fan. But when it comes to the Crossdown Showdown (AKA Chicago's Northsiders, the Cubs, vs Chicago's Southsiders, the Sox) I'm definately ready to bust some southside skulls :)

Hockey had its peak in the US ten years ago. Maybe more. Thats when hockey actually mattered. You know what's scary? American's are promoting soccer more than hockey today. THAT is scary, considering Americans have been calling soccer (football everywhere else) a "girl" sport for the last (insert ridiculously large number here) years.
 
haha no football isnt a girls sport, the most popular girls sport is whinging and is partaken by 99% of females in the world

no but seriously, how can americans call football a girls sport and follow basketball so fanatically where you almost cant breathe on another person without being pulled up.....

hell baseball isnt a contact sport either

i give up trying to use reason with americans
 
This comes from the country who call their baseball the world series..when no other countries take part :lol:
