A bunch of nerax employess and customers are tryign to raise 100k euros to buy the source code and assets to ryzom, and make it open source for all to use for free.

I saw a discussion on this last week on slashdot. Apparently the original idea was to make it opensource, but that doesn't bring in enough money for the fat cats I guess.

I played the free trial (just n00b island) for a couple weeks. Not bad, but nothing I would get addicted to.
