I have to agree with you. They make things so cheaply. My Dad bought a big screen TV (Projection) like 6 or 7 years ago. Broke a year and a half later. Had to get it fixed. Not sure what the problem was but its been like 5 years since then and there have been 0 issues. It's like the companies make shit cheaply so you can send it back to them to get it fixed.

we still have 2 awesome toshiba CRT tvs at home that have been running for 13/14 years without fail (apart from remote controls being fubared after so much use). dont see them getting replaced anytime soon either. i would be astonished if newer tellies last even half that without a hiccup

Yeah, the HDMI is key for anything with 720p/1080p resolutions. It is becoming more or less the HDTV standard (and that goes for Sony, Samsung, Phillps, etc TVs)

Those are Microsoft issues, we at Sony pride ourselves on good products.

The HDMI port DRASTICALLY improves sound and picture quality, and I am telling you from the point of view of spending £1000 on a HDMI Amp, so I plug my HDMI PS3, HDMI CD Player, HDMI DVD Player all together for THX 2 sound quality.
