Release day on a Sunday?

So, I was at the mall yesterday and decided to check out the EB see if there was anything that would strike my fancy and lo and behold there is a massive line out the door. I was like :wtf: so I managed to squeeze my way inside and it's a freakin mad house. I was running through my head what could possible be out that the place looked like a release party, but nothing came to mind and then boom. The clerk reaches down and plops a Wii on the counter (hmmm...should probably rephrase that). Apparently they had gotten a shipment of Wii's in and it was first come first serve.

lol, Funny shit, reminds of when yoy's where back in fashion. Same old Nintendo restricted supply to artifically stem demand.

I ordered a game for Gamecube recently, proof that I won't be getting a Wii anytime soon - if ever.

I also heard they get new shipments of Wii's on Sundays. I was talking to a dude at best buy and he told me things get absolutely crazy. People still camp for Wii every Sunday... they have to give out tickets and everything lol.

I could say the same thing about Sony and the PS2. Too bad it hasn't worked out for Sony this time around.

PS3 has ZERO good games 'til November. Or any game at all for that matter, they all suck... atm.

At this rate Artica I wouldn't be surprised if all of PS3's (good) games were released on all the consoles.

Here's a funny tid bit. A friend of mine was at Best Buy the other day computer shopping. She ended up getting a 3 GHZ Pentium 4 Processor 512 RAM with a nice Canon Printer, a nice set of speakers and a 14" CRT Monitor. All for 398. The onboard video card wasn't that bad either, easily could run something like SWG, EQ2, or The Sims 2 for that matter. The only thing lacking IMO is RAM and you could get another 512 chip for a mere 50 dollars.

You could do a lot more on that computer than a shitty PS3. 600 dollars my ass you could easily get a much better computer for that price.

Sony can stock up, for a big christmas push, lol.

PS3 2007 Most Wanted Christmas Present, Price $450.
For the small one?

Ooh, does it add another color? Along with a useless HDMI port and a hard drive that's useful for nothing other than storing media?

You went over the line here, HDMI Useless, HDMI useless you obviously don't have HD TV do you, and the PS3 has HDMI port as standard.

The HDMI port DRASTICALLY improves sound and picture quality, and I am telling you from the point of view of spending £1000 on a HDMI Amp, so I plug my HDMI PS3, HDMI CD Player, HDMI DVD Player all together for THX 2 sound quality.

How can you get better than a 100% Digital connection for Audio and Video?

HDMI has emerged as the digital standard for connecting HD devices, displays and components, and provides for the pristine transmission of high-definition digital video and digital audio via a single cable. Both based on Silicon Image's high-speed digital TMDS® technology, HDMI is fully compatible with DVI (Digital Visual Interface)-based devices. Further, HDMI is the first and only digital interface for Consumer Electronics devices that can carry:

  • Uncompressed high-definition video
  • Compressed or uncompressed multi-channel audio
  • Intelligent format & command data
Customer Benefits of HDMI
100% Digital

  • Video and Audio signal remains digital from output device to display device
  • Best quality sound and picture
  • Bandwidth to spare for HDTV
  • 1080p capable and beyond
  • Over two times 1080i bandwidth

  • Enables high-level functions such as "one-touch play"

Ah, but will it solve the heat issue, the cd scratching issue, and the red ring of death issue? Early reports are not promising... http://news.spong.com/article/12415?cb=347

Those are Microsoft issues, we at Sony pride ourselves on good products.
