Turns out it IS a cash prize, I just read the rules wrong. However, I still will have problems trying to participate since I don't live in the Tri Cities.
I was confused because their General Rules state:
Rule 7.
Prize has no cash value.
But, I recorded an advertisement for the contest on-air and read the specific contest instructions as well, and they say it's a cash prize for this one.

Anyway, just posting this in case anyone decided not to make an attempt for $5,000 because of that other thread. BTW the contest runs from 6 AM to 10 PM so don't bother trying any other times, and read the rules and clues if you're going to play, it'll save you alot of time. (I already know where I'd start looking - if I were in Tri Cities *sigh*, but I can't shell out the gas money right now, so unless I find another excuse for going there, I can't really play.)
