Please post any problems, bugs, or issues with the new chat feature here. I set the server address to something permanent, so it should take everyone to the same room on the same channel. If you are having trouble entering the room, or you know someone who is for sure in the chat yet you join an empty channel, please post here.

http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Go there and download it. Make sure you install it for IE and any other browser you're running. then just restart your browser and try again

I am getting this error:
[10:04] Connecting...
[10:05] Unable to connect : java.net.ConnectException : Connection timed out: connect

Even though I have installed and verified that I have Java 1.5. Could it have something to d owith company firewall?

Oh yeah, thanks for setting up the chat channel!

you need Java Runtime Environment Version 5.0 Update 5. Not 1.5. This is primarily an IE error. Seems that Firefox users are having no problems

Sorry, I meant version 5.

It is the latest and greatest version, plus I am using Firefox, not IE.

just realized your error was different than the one that was solved by downloading the Java applet. Its a connection error with your firewall most likely. try connecting using the mIRC method (the seperate sticky post) and see if that works

Trying now...

Oh yeah, it is a firewall issue, cause mIRC don't work either (timeout)

Don't feel like figuring it out now...maybe later.

you can edit your post as many times as you want. once 5 minutes pass after the original posting, you can no longer edit the post. the 5 minute timer was put in as a safety for people posting something extreme, and then going back in an hour, deleting it, and sayin "i dunno what you're talking about."

So, edit all you want, just make sure it is within 5 mins of posting :D
