Reasons why I love my husband.
[/b]

Why, because of his economically neutral outlook on politics? What an odd thing to like.

the geneva convention is a joke ..heres how you win a war in 48 hrs ..bomb every school hospital and church in the target country

[/b]

yeah that would win a war in 48 hrs. And cause us to lose every ally we have.

Then we're destroyed.

Actually since the US is the hegemon, lack of allies is not something which would destroy us. The US has more potential power than the rest of the world combined. Source: A.F.K. Organski.

We don't have many allies left.

lack of allies because they were retaliating probably would though. There's potential power, then there is sheer numbers. Not to mention most of America itself would rebel against the government if we bombed schools.

we've got the allies that matter. Not to mention, just cuz a country is pissed at us doesn't mean they're not allies anymore.

What's a coservative? seems to be alot of them.

Generaly the word comes fromt he idea that someone of a conservative political philosophy favors keeping long standing and well established policy rather than rapid change.

This does not really totaly describe those the term is generaly used to describe now but is still true in part.

In the US the repuplican party is usaly more conservative while the democrats are usaly more liberal, though there are exceptions in both parties to this rule.

It is difficult to give an accurate description though as ideas and policys in the politcal environment change on a daily basis and often terms are spun to mean diffrent things.

Sorry if this post is a bit confusing I think I drank a bit to much of this captain morgan stuff tonight...

Conservative in a nutshell:

That foremost among the transcendent values is the individual's use of his God-given free will, whence derives his right to be free from the restrictions of arbitrary force;

That liberty is indivisible, and that political freedom cannot long exist without economic freedom;

That the purpose of government is to protect those freedoms through the preservation of internal order, the provision of national defense, and the administration of justice;

That when government ventures beyond these rightful functions, it accumulates power, which tends to diminish order and liberty;

That the Constitution of the United States is the best arrangement yet devised for empowering government to fulfill its proper role, while restraining it from the concentration and abuse of power;

That the genius of the Constitution- the division of powers- is summed up in the clause that reserves primacy to the several states, or to the people, in those spheres not specifically delegated to the Federal government;

That the market economy, allocating resources by the free play of supply and demand, is the single economic system compatible with the requirements of personal freedom and constitutional government, and that it is at the same time the most productive supplier of human needs;

That when government interferes with the work of the market economy, it tends to reduce the moral and physical strength of the nation; that when it takes from one man to bestow on another, it diminishes the incentive of the first, the integrity of the second, and the moral autonomy of both;

That we will be free only so long as the national sovereignty of the United States is secure; that history shows periods of freedom are rare, and can exist only when free citizens concertedly defend their rights against all enemies;

That the forces of international Communism are, at present, the greatest single threat to these liberties;

That the United States should stress victory over, rather than coexistance with, this menace; and

That American foreign policy must be judged by this criterion: does it serve the just interests of the United States?

Im a liberal and a capitolist

LEt everyone be responsible for themselves, if you can make money make it and monopolies are good. In the ned they help the economy and provide more jobs -- fine small business is shut down, but in doing so you create more jobs for the corporate negine that runs the usa.

I dont believe in taxes to schools since i dont ahve kids -- when I do i will put them in proivate schools anyway sicne teh school system is screwed up anyway -- (and i live in a county with one of the top 10 school systems in the us -- imagine what my school taxes look like...)
