need photoshop help

Theres some thing wrong with my brush in photoshop cs. Instead of being a line it comes out as cricles like this ( .... .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . ....)

the "marching ants" indicates a selection
you can either choose to (stroke) the selection with a foreground color from the edit or alternately use the pen/line tool
 
Two ways of Fixing this. First, is simply moving your mouse slower :P

Second, is to open up the brush settings, click the circle with an arrow pointing east, and hit reset brushes, like shown at this link

Damn image shack for not allowing direct linking.
