Need help with Psp 8

zanaiomih

The magic never ends...
I have a problem when I work with Psp 8. The standard format as you save a pic is .pspimage. When I change format to for example .jpg or .gif I get the following text: "Because of the limitations of the specified file format (and possibly the save options you've selected), the save file will be limited to merged image. Would you like to continue?" If I press yes, the resolution of the pic is so bad it ain't even funny.

I have a good graph card so it isn't that. And when I sit with a version of Psp that is a lot older, it doesn't happen, the pics are way better looking with good graphics. If my memory serves me right, I had this problem with my old version in the beginning, some settings were the couse. I changed those and then it was all fine. I can't remember these settings nor anything else when it come to fixing this issue.

What am I missing here?
 *pulls my hair*

This is an example of how horrible it looks when changing format (and I need to change format to one of the regular ones...jpg, gif etc)

Before saving as a .jpg check your resolution. Make sure it's at least 300.

The message you're getting is because .jpgs don't like vectors, and layers and things. When you save it, it saves it like a background layer.

I have that prog at work and use it more than I want to.

What extension are PSP files kitty?

I can put it on a res of 300, still get that message...and the pic looks horrible after that.

I was asking Lethos. PSP is one of the extension on PaintshopPro. Zana can read them since she is using that program to create them.

I can help you once I get home. I can't do nothing here because there are many software limitations. I'll PM you my email. So you can send.

Then there is more then one psp type files (?), couse I have the program, but cant read all psp files on my other puter...

It has very low dpi, when I opened it. That's why the jpeg comes out like that. I couldn't edit it because I don't have the original file of the girl, whatever made the picture got really blurry.

Ill send the original pic.

Does this look better?
What you need to do when your in the window after choosing "save as", select options, and there should be a little slider which controls the compression factor, you want to move that all the way to the left (1) for best quality.
If you can't or use this slider, make sure your in standard encoding or progressive encoding.

I prefere to use PNG format when doing HQ stuff, but I admit, I can't see any difference between the two at highest quality (Jpg's) settings.
