What's my name again?
I had a real good time for the most part. I had a few equipment problems that kept me out for a bit, but when everything was going good I had a blast.
We went to a place called Mt. Ord, which is about 40 miles outside of the Phoenix area. Once off the nice asphalt highway we had to drive up the mountain on a very rocky single lane trail. Was pretty hairy at times, occasionaly there were times when immediately off the trail was a large dropoff down the side of the mountain, and no railing of any type.
The first game consisted of a 30 minute double elimination game as a warmup. Kinda sucked for me because my goggles fogged up real bad. I had to try and find my way out of the hot zone without taking my goggles off. After the game was over someone was kind enough to treat my goggles and glasses with anti-fog, so that problem was solved for the rest of the day.
The second game was great. They setup 2 cones a few hundred feet apart, and a makeshift hut a few hundred feet further back. The tan team was charged with defending the area, while the green team had to take and hold the area around the first cone, then the second cone, and in the end take the hut.
We had a great rock formation near the first cone where we dug in, the green team talked alot about how tough it was to take that cone with people behind the rocks. Unfortunately, halfway through the game (lasted 2 hours) my gun stopped firing. I figured it was the battery, so I left the battle and put the battery on the charger. The battery charged up but the gun still didn't fire. After the game was over some of the guys took a look at it and found that some of the leads in the handle had come loose and fell off. That was the last of my technical problems of the day.
The third game was the same as the second game, except the roles were reversed. Some of the people left (mostly tan) so we were outnumbered and attacking a larger force that was dug in and ready. Needless to say it didn't go over well, but we still had fun.
