Might not wanna list a bunch of lame crappy games to make your point. Resistance is probably the only truly great PS3 game out after all this time, but I'm still prett ambivalent about it. I already have a ton of FPS's on my PC that are about a million times better than Resistance, and I honestly have no interest in playing an FPS game on a console with a gamepad. If they'd stop focusing on making a "Halo-Killer" then maybe they could actual come up with something decent that is appealing to the console market (Halo sucked anyway for the same reason)

Wii's game lineup sucks too (although Super Paper Mario will be badass) but I'm thinking that this is because all the publishers assumed that Wii would suck sales-wise like the Gamecube did. I'm sure that with the current sales success of the Wii most of the big publishers have jumped on board and are now putting more effort into Wii games than PS3 games; but it will be a while before those games are far enough to be announced.

PS3 is a good system though; and Final Fantasy and MGS should be great. Maybe if they drop the price by $200-$300 or so I will pick one up.

first off, he goes to name the games PS3 has and the scene immediately blips out to name what the Wii has and names none of the PS3 games except for the 548484848156181817861918717819818181745671487148714784178417841748917 Final Fantasies there are

i'm into FPS, and racing more then anything else- so all these sports/story/fighting games don't do much for me, so that knocks off 99% of the list

and for FPS', xbox rocks with rainbow six, ghost recon, and halo

for racing, we have the unbeatable project gothams as well as the up and coming Forza Motorsport 2 which i plan to pwn ass at

and with all the PS3 games that are free online i must say, PS3 online sucks ASS...gone over to my friends house a few times and he has it, my god does their online suck...i would much rather pay for an online service and have a better online

ok, i started playing xbox live when it came out over four years ago, and then consoles online was unheard of, yet even then the xbox surpassed the online capabilities of the PS3

and then all we had were our headsets and our friends list and we rolled with it

also about the Forza vs. Grand Turismo discussion, Forza is extrememly realistic, it is the most accurate simulation out there which is how i like it...some people may like their racing games watered down so its easier for them but i don't

i knew people that hated the game because they "can't even turn without spinning out" which is common if you don't know what your doing

Socom, that was a famous FPS online for PS2. I never played, but I know many did.
FFXI is one of the biggest online games in console, another PS2 game.

FF series has a big following, even greater than all those games you named. There are many reasons why this games are much more memorable.

War games like Halo are about a hero, but most players that like the genre just play the multiplayer, for the thrill to engage another like mind. Or in case of rainbow six, just plain warfare, which doesn't leave anything behind to be memorable other than your own feats.

Games like the FF series, immerse you in a story and in the life of the characters that play the role. Everyone that played Part 7 can tell you how it hurt when Aerith died, it was a sad moment and it will be remembered forever. Is like watching a movie, let's say Star Wars, when Darth Vader tells Luke, he is his father at the end of Episode 5. It's a memorable turning point in the story.

Once done, that story, those characters will stay with you forever. Feats in a war game will be replaced by feats in the newest war game. And the old game will be replaced with the newest version.

People can argue that Master Chief is another Solid Snake, however, did Master Chief ever fought a fist fight against an old friend just because they were on different sides of the conflict? Nope, Master Chief is only battling an invasion of an unnamed foe. Another war game with a poor storyline, made for the sole purpose of making PvP even better. What would be most memorable? A world of a hero fighting an alien army invading the planet. Or a world with intricate politics were the good and the bad side melts on the gray area?

*giggle* ^_^

Obtainable in PC as well. And they have tons of mods in PC, which they don't have in Xbox. ;)

Besides KOTOR is within my explanation... is part of Star Wars.

I know.

FF is only FF7 to FF9 and FF11, officially. You can get Roms of them all (and any other game) illegaly.

I'm not arguing about what isn't or not on any one console. I'm arguing about the games.

I gave you KOTOR, Mr. Sovi. It's part of SW world, and part of my argument. SW has many memorable characters on games, books, movies, and animations. I can name a lot of them which won't be forgotten. How many times have you quoted Yoda for saying something the way he spoke? Those that have played Jedi knight, remember Kyle Katarn? For those that read the books, Bria Tharen?

Sorry, but MGS just isn't worth the money. The first one I did enjoy by the 2nd one, Patriots of our Fathers, or whatever it was called left a really bad taste in my mouth. Beat the game in a few days because it was 10% game play and 90% interruptions.

ok for starters you are right that socom was popular, doesn't mean it was good...my sister had it and i gotta say it was boring and laggy, much much much much much much laggier then XBL

the final fantasy games, they had a hit with the first one, so they decided to make more and more and more and more and they are now up to 12 i believe? to be honest, in halo i can remember some pretty cool ass scenes and thats just from 2 games, not 12 like FF and i can tell you the story and whats going on, what they are trying to do, who and what the spartans are

not sure how snake fighting a friend of his makes him better then MC lol, but try this for a fistfight

masterchief is with his partners sam and alex on a missions for the first time in their brand new MJOLNIR armor (which note, when a non-spartan used this armor his reflexes souldn't stand up to the agility of the armor and hence when he moved his arm he ripped his arm off because he couldn't withstand the power of the suit) and they were dropped off by the fleet of human navy ships to invade a covenant station that had been reeking havoc and posed a threat to the human fleet. while on board MC gets separated from his companions and finds himself working on the mission alone. so while floating through a hallway (space-no gravity) he encounters an elite covenant for the first time and begins to fight him, first with weapons until they both run out of ammo andt hey enter a fistfight, where MC eventually wins, only after having his hand broken and getting messed up a bit

hows that for a memorable scene and a fistfight?

and unnamed foe= covenant, named in about every cutscene in both games kthx

poor storyline? lets try amazing storyline...they discover a halo in the first game and go to check it out, but what they find is horrible, the flood, which are creatures that feed on the flesh of others and grow to slaughter entire civilizations...so MC sets out to blow up all the halo's, after learning there are 7 of them, but obviously it won't be that easy :)

and you ask what would be more memorable?

uh politics vs slaughter of flesh-eating creatures and invading army

uh....

....

........

i'm gonna go with the slaughter of f;esh-eating creatures and invading army

Actually there are 49 Final Fantasy games. That is not including the Chocobo Games, Anime, Manga, and Movies.

True, you require a finesse to enjoy the good stuff. ;)

You are as aggressive as I remember.

I do have to add. You can't convince a simple minded individual that a more complex storyline is actually better than plain and straight forward one. They will always go for the easy fodder, because it won't make them think.

Not everyone likes to think like you and I to enjoy something. They prefer an easy going life, with as most things as possible handed down to them.

That's a rather self righteous assesment. There's a difference between a good story line and a story line that is just plain long and piss poor boring.
