does your state have punitive damages? if not then more than likely a lawyer wouldn't take the case based on time to $$ ratio to fight this case in court

im not sure, and they dont live here lol, they live in georgia. but she aint to bothered. a little pissed but she gets uneployment, so it works out somewhat.

My company laid off 120 people becuase they were shipping our work to Jamaica and Arizona. What did we do? Payroll processing, Accounts Payable, and Travel and Expenses. Of course, first the company put all of these people in one building, so they'd only have to make 1 snip.

Oh they also gave them a year to find a new job (which was nice) but told them they couldn't look within the company until that May of 06.

I mention I've been working at my new job for 6 months now :)

Business law nowadays is changed it is very difficult to go after companies in cases like this. More often than not the courts are siding with business.

Yeah it sucks but depending on where you live, she can collect unemployment which will be one hell of a lot more that if she was to get disability when she would go out on maternity leave. and unemployemtn lasts longer. - Just a thought :) but then again NY is the welfare state

yeah, but if shes the only one laid off, mainly because the due date is getting close, would be interesting. but yes alot of buisnesses still get screwed. but i dont know all the details so i cant say she should sue or not. im just sayingthat dudes gonna burn lol.
