I got a brand new pc for christmas and a copy of rainbow 6 vegas. The PC is really top of the range spec with 3ghz p4 dual core, 500gb hd space 1.5gb of ram etc. Only thing is it has a 256mb x600 ati gfx card which wont play any of my games lol.

I was thinking of upgrading to x1650 pro or greater. Does anyone have any info on these cards? Im totally baffled by reviews etc.

Basically i want a gfx card that will run rainbow 6 without any problems. Id prefer to not spend too much money (i cn afford about 100 pound atm so crossfire cards are out!).

so basically it boils down to either x1650 pro, x1800 or x1900 GT?

also i dont know weather to go for 256 or 512 of these...considering their crazy prices.

before you get a new graphics card, open up your case and look at your Power Supply. If it's less than 400, go and get a new one that is at least 400, but 600 would be best for newer cards.

Trust me.

If you don't trust me, talk to Curse.

Or me. I've had major PSU problems in the past few months, but I've settled everything out.

Here's my card. (This is runable on a 420W PSU. I figured out the problem that my PSU was just simply going bad and/or my old card was defective.)

I run BF2 in Medium-High settings without skipping a beat. I also run WoW in 1440x900 (widescreen) res and never get any skipping. (loads almost instantly in Orgrimmar.)

This is a AGP card, not PCI-E. My mobo doesn't support PCI-E yet. :P

I'm not sure what 100 pound converts to in US currency...

I run a Nvidia Geforce 7800 GT (pci) i think. Its only a 256 but still rocks most other cards. I'm not sure what that is in pounds or even what the equivilent is in ATI but it does run RB6V smoothly.

Isn't 100 pounds almost 200 USD exactly?
