And I said "sorry" for that, if you read my reply to EpiseDon't go back on your word now. You said you thought anyone who thought otherwise was an idiot.
Many, and likely most, Americans, btw, believe that marriage is a tradition and institution that should not be changed. They are OK with homosexual civil unions, but believe that marriage is inherently between a man and a woman.

I can blame that Im from Sweden ^_^ And Im not worked up, I think its a fun discussion and interestinglol sorry but I love how you guys spell when you get all worked up

Wrong, as I have stated before.Marriage is a religous right... plain and simple. You get married in the eyes of God. (whoever that may be)
[/b]
So people who get married by a judge, or a ship's captain, are not married?Marriage is a religous right... plain and simple. You get married in the eyes of God. (whoever that may be)

I think marriage is a sacred union between any two people, not a religious right. Started long before Christianity which a lot of things that are written in the bible didMarriage is a religous right... plain and simple. You get married in the eyes of God. (whoever that may be)

Those are marriages in the eyes of the law, which is what we're discussing given the topic. If you want to deny anyone but Christians (and, since you mention "God", presumably Jews and Muslims) the ability to marry, I think you'll find dwindling support even amongst the Fox News crowd here. Those aren't marriages. Those are unions.
As I said, marriage is a religous right and is done before the eyes of God.
Just because current laws today have bastardized the sanctity of it doesn't mean it isn't true.

Yeah, the thought that marriage is something that is specifically for church goers is a little out of date. Those are marriages in the eyes of the law, which is what we're discussing given the topic. I would have no problem getting married in a church, if that is what my future wife would want. I would have no problem not getting married in a church if that is what my future wife would want.<--- Did not get married in a church. and had a very lovely ceremony outside
[/b]
I wouldn't get married in the eyes of God. I'd never do it for any God or for anyone else but me and my man. To me, marriage is a union between wo people in love. They want to share their life and show the world their happiness, and that they belong together. Its about two people becomming one.Marriage is a religous right... plain and simple. You get married in the eyes of God. (whoever that may be)

That is my dream, to get married outside. Sounds awesome Fluffy ^_^<--- Did not get married in a church. and had a very lovely ceremony outside

And you are the one getting married, not yer parents. So you should do what feels right for you and your wifeI would have no problem getting married in a church, if that is what my future wife would want. My parents would probably prefer it to be in a church, but that is because they are oldschool.

Oh I know, and I wouldn't dare get married in a church for them. Was just kind of rambling about how they would like it more.. :lol:And you are the one getting married, not yer parents. So you should do what feels right for you and your wife![]()

A churche is usually a very lovely building, with a lot of artwork and such. And a nice place for people to get together. But since I dont share the thoughts and the beliefs, it would feel wrong to get married or anything of the kind in a churche.
