So I want you guys to do some work for me,
How do you percieve the Sony Computer Entertainment, not SOE , lol.
- Overall I like Sony's entertainment section (where as the quality has slipped around a lot of the hardware areas of the company, the software end has stayed top notch). Not a Sony fan boy, but certainly do enjoy the Sony brand...SOE....no comment.
Why do you like, or dislike the Playstation series?
- loved the PS1, simple, effective. PS2 was great for games, price was still resonable, but made a lousy DVD player. Certainly not up to snuff on that end, but the quality of the system was good enough solely for games to make it worth it's while. Plus adding mod chips to both series was easy and fun.
What games do you love the most on the platform?
- Too many to count, loved the adventure games, 3rd person games, strategy, RPG...basically most genres except FPS. Just never liked playing an FPS on a console, never felt right. Overall loved games across many genres, the PS1/2 had some phenemonal gaming diversity.
What would make you buy a PS3?
- How does cut the price in half sound? Honestly, they marketed the PS2 as a game system and a DVD player, and it was awful for a DVD player, I expect much of the same for the PS3 being a Blue-Ray player as well as game system (great for games, lousy for movies). Also, the whole "but a Blue-Ray player is $1000 at release, thus the PS3 is a bargain" is bullshit, cause I can go out and buy a HD DVD player for $500 RIGHT NOW and play movies at the exact same quality (1080p) that I can for Blue-Ray. Unfortunetly, with all the comapnies backing Blue-Ray, I can see HD DVD getting pushed out of the market, despite it being almost on equal ground (Blue-Ray's only advantage is more storage capacity), but half the price. So, I will most likely buy a Wii and not a PS3 this year.
Class it as informal Market Research.
