Zero is awesome - they have a new Coke Zero that has Cherry Flavoring that I love.

The problem with diet sodas (as well as any other diet/non suger product) is that the artificial sweeteners put in them fools the body and makes you crave for sugar even more. The body also have an even harder time taking care of artificial stuff (artificial products are dangerous and unhealthy for several reasons). Real suger is so processed and that's a big reason to why it's so dangerous for your body. It's a lot better to use honey or fruits etc to make things sweet.

Something that I've heard, but I don't know if it's true, is that artificial sweeteners also slows your braincells = you think slower

Sounds like a textbook case of caffeine withdrawl. Switch to diet maybe? :P Or C2 or Zero or One or whatever the hell else they offer that tastes like the real thing but has minimal calories.

It might not be the caffeine. My blood sugar goes crazy, and when it gets too low I get migranes. If I skip a meal or something I get hit with one bad, or if I eat lots of starch and not much meat, I get one.

I'd say try and include atleast some meat in every meal, that seems to help me out.

Aspartame is known to cause adverse effects in the brains of lab rats and humans. Several complaints regarding this substance were submitted to the FDA last year; however, the FDA will do nothing :)

that might be it. I cut out all but one or two glasses of pop a day, and I am barely hungry and forget meals.. running from class to daycare to switch kiddo over before work, I am lucky I remember my name 1/2 the time. I've been carrying gummy life savers with me incase I go too long without eating

Coke was easy for me to quit (Being from texas, Coke includes any softdrink :D )

But I am in the same boat as banannaman. Trying to put on weight. So far it isn't going bad or good. I am putting on a bit. Hoping to gain 15 lbs by my next birfday.
[/b]

are u lifting weights or just eating...well if u do both make sure u get 1.5g of protein per body weight through meats and protein shakes...try to gain 2-3 lbs a month(maximum amount of muscle you can put on a month)...so 15 lbs of pure muscle will take 5 months to put on with a good workout routine+good diet. shoot for 3500 calories a day.

I work out and eat. I probably don't lift enough weights, but I do try and work out every day. I probably hit the 3500 calorie mark, because I have been eating a fuck ton. I am thinking of getting protien shake mix stuff here soon. And my birthday is in July, so by that math I could hit it. :D

Ummmm, well, caffeine is a drug that reduces the effects of migraines by opening up blood vessels (especially in the head) to allow more blood flow and less constriction.

So, the headaches might be more of a case of stopping your migraine meds as opposed to drug withdrawl.

Caffeine being the migraine med in question. Hence, caffeine withdrawl.

But if you stop taking your cold medicine and you start coughing again is that cold medicine withdrawal?

cept what if she's not taking migraine meds other than caffeine. I think what you are trying to say, but aren't coming out and saying is that "maybe she should talk to a doctor to see why she's having migraines"

That is the one thing I have been putting off.

I have migraines on the days I drink less than one pop and barely eat, so it could be either. If I grab a glass of coke it usually goes away, and the times it doesn't a few m&m's or gummi's and I am fine

I think what he's trying to say is that the caffeine and sugar could be masking a bigger problem. They are acting like medicine for something else that could be wrong. It could just be caffeine withdrawls, or it could be that the caffine was masking something more serious. We wouldn't know - only a doctor would.

rofl, I have consumed huge amounts of caffeine for years, so yeah, if I stop drinking as much I get headaches. There is no bigger underlining problems. When I tried to stop drinking pop before my Dr gave me pain meds to help with the caffeine headache withdrawals. I doubt it is any different.

in best Arnold voice "it's not a tummmor"

I ain't saying it is anything serious. All the caffeine she has consumed has been her migraine meds for years. She most likely has been susceptible to migraines for years but probably didn't notice them till the soda diet. It is a very common occurrence in women, especially ones who have been pregnant in the past. The migraines generally last till menopause. WW deals with the same thing, if you are cutting down on the caffeine and want some other meds then she could get a prescription for some low dose meds that essentially do the exact same thing as the caffeine was doing.

All that said, just finding a reasonable caffeine/soda intake would most likely accomplish the same thing a doctor visit would.

They say that sugar, as well as caffeine, would be 'stamped as illeagal' if 'they came today' since they are both so toxic for your body.

The more weight I lose, the fatter I feel
[/b]

Its probably because you are starving your body. Which results in cannabalization of muscle tissue making you weaker and making it more difficult for your body to support your own weight. Muscle tissue is consumed first by the body when it becomes malnourished.

my bubbah from college is a personal trainer and wouldn't let me starve myself to lose weight, so thats not it. I work out, so my body isn't weaker or more tired. Its just how I feel. Yesterday was a "omg, I am 300lbs" day
