I made a channel for everyone to keep upto date with each other alternatively then just using the forums
You need a curse account, which if you've played WoW you might have one already. (free to make one)
Think of the functionality like Battle.net plus Skype.
Either setup the desktop client or mobile app, or both.
You can hang out in the general chat room (text) or any of the voice channels that are set up
