What is the strangest thing you were ever offered for breakfast?

I met my in-laws for the first time a couple of days ago. My girlfriend's family live just outside Surin which is deep inside the Isan province of Thailand about 50km from the Cambodian border.

For breakfast the first morning I was there they offered me this...

main.php

It's a bowl of fried cockroach, what's worse is I saw them being cooked... they were alive...

I knew they ate insects here, I've even tried a few in the past, things liek locust and crickets but no freaking way am I eating a cockroach.

Scrambled eggs with pig brains.
You can actually buy the heart attack in a can at the grocery store.

Oh my god, I already have somewhat high cholesterol, that would just kill me.

Not that I'd want to eat it anyway. Eww.

LOL ^_^

I eat pretty much anything, and love to try new things..... I don't know if I'd eat cockroaches tho

As for myself, frog legs I guess. Taste good, like chicken :)
Tho I have to say oysters is some what ewww, even if those are common to eat. That little 'tongue' that's alive inside the oyster when you eat it, and then you squeeze lemon on it and it 'wiggles'. Then you cut it off and then in the mouth... feels like thick snot when you swallow it  ...tastes more or less nothing.
