I don't really like Roth, Sammy Hagar is the man though.

Van Halen seemed more 'fun' at the beginning with Roth. They were a band back then. With Hagar they became 'artists'.

Sammy Hagar is a fucking tool. Theres a reason they called Van Halen , Van Hagar after David Lee Roth left and its cause it sucked.

Might I add that theres like 10 songs that get airtime on classic rock stations on the radio and not one of them is Van Hagar...

He was the former lead singer of Extreme... Gary Cherone recorded one album with Van Halen but it wasn't very successful... so they dumped him and almost brought Roth back, but he's a tool, so they distanced themselves away... last I know they're back with Hagar.

so is the poll who is a better singer, or what era are the songs better?

i think a lot of people pick roth because the songs are 'classics', but how much of that was roth and how much was the style of the music?

or did roth inspire the music?

Personally, I hate Roth so much I would take Hagar
Cherone wasn't bad, but the music lacked that 'it' factor and it doomed him
