Now apparently turning the train into the bystanders is considered murder in the eyes of the lord and that we have no right to take the lives of the inncocent bystanders. I argued my case saying that we also have no right to take the lives of the sschoolchildren by our inaction but we couldnt reach an agreement so i left kinda angry. what do u guys think?

that was hard

i agree that turning it to safety meant murder...i mean this is a lose lose situation..if both people die..whats the point you are going to have people sue you too if you turn to safety and kill the bystanders......and hardy plausible seeing as i will never operate a choo choo with people in it

well with the info you are giving me i would save the children, because:
The bystanders are inocent but the children are more inocent, since if the by standers are waiting for the train its pretty sure they are more grown ups who have lived more of a life than the children on the train. besides who can asure us that by crashing with the wall bystanders wont get hurt.

now also The train is full of children i dont think there are as many bystanders as the kids in the train and last but not least, it should teach them not to stand by the rail road tracks when there is going to be a trainwreck (i know they probably didnt know)

This was my thinking too

well, the choice is pretty simple- which has less? are there 100 schoolkids and only 15 bystanders? IMHO it would depend on how many people are involved

I vote for killing the bystanders.....they should be standing so close to the platform

But seriously it is a catch-22, a Kobiashi Marou, damed if you do damned if you don't

This sounds like a question ince raised in a philosophy class I took.

"More" innocent. Sure, think that all you want.

The point is that in christianity choosing to save the lives of the schoolchildren means that you must take the lives of the bystanders. By not saving the schoolchildren you are not taking anyones life and so that is the right course of action.

I didnt get on very well with my RE teacher and i didnt turn up to the entire last terms lessons, some people just have the wrong views on stuff and people like him shouldnt be teaching shit like this to poeple lol.

Um, I would probably be so confused what to do I'd just sit there and let it hit the wall. Then I'd just say I couldn't decide, and after I got fired I'd go take a nap.
