The PS3 controller

djmtott

What's my name again?
Remember when you'd be playing a video game and you find yourself not only pressing the buttons, but moving the controller around wildly (picture a driving game and trying to make a tight corner). No matter what you did, only the buttons mattered.

But now everything matters... watch this!

not really a copy just the next thing for controllers both companies have been working forever on these things not like sony can say oooo do that when nintendo unviels their crap ...

a good move by sony is keeping the controller the same ..i hate getting used to different controllers

how long till these things break though both the sony and nintendo one have to be somewhat delicate

Awesome, so now I can use the controller as a weapon against my friend in mortal combat AND have my character be beating up his at the same time.

WOW!

<_< -_-

I don't know, Nintendo has a pretty good reputation for durability. Teh NES had a few problems, and the N64 controller had some problems, other then that everything they made lasts pretty much forever.

I remember watching a video where some guys took a hammer to all three systems(Xbox, PS2, GC) while the systems were being played. The X-Box went down after 1 hit, the PS2, about 2 or 3. ANd the Game Cube was almost in peices before it stoped working. This of course also had to do with the smaller disk radius(harder for disks to skip) but also the durability of the system. I remember dropping my Super Nintendo down a flight of stairs and it still worked.

Really we'll have to see what it will be like, but i personally can't wait for teh Wii, if it performs even half as good as they are boasting then it will be an amazing step forward in consol gaming.

But if I had to choose, i'd take Nintendo's track record over microsoft and sony's any day of the week. Honestly, I have no intention at this point of buying a 360, and unless they re-release FF VII for the PS-3, I doubt i'll be getting that either. Both are just going to be way to expensive for the first long time after release. Where as the Wii is going to come out cheap (well cheaper) right off the bat.

Well you have to take into consideration that a board that reads a catridge has a lot less sensitive parts than the lens in a CD or DVD player. Besides Nintendo has always done their equipment with kids in mind, that's mainly why most of their games have kid themes. Xbox and PS are geared toward technology and most of the games have teen or mature ratings.

my SNES has a huge hole in the side of it and still works

Stuff is getting too complicated. Better graphics are nice but sega genesis for the win! I think they are taking it too far now. Things like this are just their realisation that they cant complicate controllers like the computer with 100 something buttons.
