Star Wars Timeline Gold

Wow, if you thought we didn't have lives, check this out. This is by far the most detailed and complete timeline i've ever seen of the Star Wars galaxy. The main timline is almost 1100 pages, and the Appendices are over 150. It was just updated again last month. I'm wondering how much Kinkos would charge to print all this in book format......

Anyway, if you read this entire thing, including the appendicies, you pretty much will have read the entire history of the star wars universe, as well as read pretty much all spoilers from books and details from them too

With as many different hands touching the same universe, and not to mention the fallacies of the new triology that timeline has to be about as broken as a cowboy in an indie film...

actually, it does a pretty good job working its way around inconsistencies and keeping the timeline coherent and have a smooth flow. The author goes way out of his way to use logic and comparative analysis to provide the most accurate version possible. I just read through a special 1000 year period in detail, which ties in to the trilogy. good deductive reasoning and use of examples to verify the positions in the timeline

This time line is one of the sources I rely on to get things ( more or less) right when it comes to placement of events in my own story. This guy has done and incredible job and even though, as has been pointed out, there are fallicies, for the most part it is THE most comprihensive thing out there if you want to get a rough idea of when things took place in the over all grand scheme of things.

If you read it through you will note that the author himself explains why HE has placed certain events in certain places and he will also say it may or may not actually be correct but it seemed the most logical.

One of the worst and most difficult things to piece togetehr ( especially from my story's point of view) is Thrawn's personal timeline for events, you want to talk about screwy... figure that one out.

I appreciate this guy's work to no end, and use his timeline as a guide line, but it is still no substitue for actually reading the stories and the comics.

The one thing I dislike about it is that in order to keep track of the date where he's at you need to scroll up a lot because it isn't on ever page ( which I wish it was) and the whole SW dating system is very odd 10 months vs 12 months calander etc....

Yeah, I read this time line and I realise that I am not that insane and there are people out there a lot nuttier than I am when it comes to the whole Star wars thing. But I owe this guy a big thanks for his work because it saved me a ton on my own. :)

So basically this guy has put more effort into keeping the stories straight than Lucas or any other writer for the SW universe. Well, when can he get with Zahn and start writing more books/movie/TV show ;)

Okay, maybe I will check it out then. Just thought he blindly put all the SW literature together in one place, this sounds more of a serious life endeavor than a on-the-side project.

it is pretty fucking major and he has done a shit load of work. I really owe this guy because without him my own time line would be a mess.
he deserves the what ever award of the month award

and if I ever publish a huge thankyou in bold print

and.... this guy upadtes regularly.
I would kill to see his SW literature collection!

The Post-Return of the Jedi stuff is what I love. Go Imps still fighting on :D

I got that Timline book from a few years back, and it was more RP-style timeline (meaning 200-100 Y.B.Y. or Years before the battle of Yavin) and liked that format, but this thing is nice just for some reading.
