photoshop resize

Hey I was just wondering if there was some way that I could just get photoshop to automatically resize my photos to a certain file size. I can't seem to figure it out, and an horrible at photoshop, and I can't get myself to sit down and test out these help discs I bought once.

I don't think so. When it comes to bacth conversions, i use Macromedia Fireworks. If you have this program, open it and go to File -> Batch Process. Select whatever images you want and press Add, and then in the next screen you can chose whatever you want it to do for all of them (resize, file type, quality, etc).

Why do you need to resize them? I think there's some freeware programs that can do thumbnails for a whole folder of pictures, if you looked around for them (haven't actually downloaded one myself).

I once downloaded a freeware program and it ended up taking forever and screwing up the originals. You can download the fireworks trial and just get the crack online

Fireworks is a very good tool for that but i personally use acdsee ... just not sure if the trial versions offer the features...
There might be some freeware tools you could try aswell...just try www.download.com ... with a few key words you can find a lot of software for the one or other issue...

i'm always so afraid of downloading a ton of programs i don't really know about, i'm so paranoid about spyware and crap like that. you guys can all confirm this doesn't come with spyware?

well if you just dont download anything unpopular you should be ok... look for popular programms and check ratings etc..
When it comes to Fireworks .. thats pretty sure spyware free... and same with AcdSee...
For trying out other freeware, shareware tools... just check ratings.. and download amounts then you can easy find which tool might be good.. and most likely spyware free too

Yup, in photoshop go to either image size or canvas size (Image size shrinks the entire thing, canvas size crops the image from an anchor point you select) You can resize it by pixils, inches, CM, anything you can think of pretty much. I have created an action to rezise pics by 640/480 as that is one I use alot. Push one button and there ya go :D

Well, as for auto-sizing a directory worth of files (as opposed to opening each file individually and re-sizing them), I have EnlargerPRO and it works great. Keeps image quality as close as possible, and works very quickly. Highly recommend it.

yepp sounds good... and thats what the problem here was i think (rezizing a directory of pics)... and its possible it works with photoshop too... or image ready ? hmm i havent used the tools for a longer time so i am back to newb state with them... but as long my acdsee does the same job.. who cares :P
hey i can even create full websites with acdsee .. all tumbnailed and linked and all... edit abit the codes and you can make it perfect

Photoshop has a browser option where you don't need to open the picture and perform an action on them. You can do an action on a whole folder. Photoshop will do the work for you. :)
