So happy I've done it, bug testing in the final month has been so frustrating tracking them all down, but it's my first java game (first java anything actually) for mobile phones, so i expected it.

I'll let you guys know were and how of when it becomes available to sell. ^_^

*does his happy dance*

I'm just trying to find places to sell my game now, I've got friends all over the world, so I want to have options for everyone, in America, In the uk, and europe, Asia and austriala too. so basically everywere...

Not as easy as you may think, so anyone has suggestion to places to sell it through, be much appreciated.

I'd rather run my own company, and make games. It's fun :)

now to find more places to sell my game. Suggestions welcome!!

you could sell your game to a company like 3 and then every time your game is bought you get commission etc.

Just an easy way to get some cash.

While it's a possibility, as a new and unknown company, with no reputation, they won't look at me, maybe if i badger them, but do i really want to chance annoying them. Something to consider once we have a few games, but thanks, yes it's an option for later.

Tivy's idea

Build your own site, and accept paypal.

Essentially whats in in the works atm Tiv, working closely with a Distrubtor (sorry spelling) called Movaya, they've got some nice storefront software to go with their large mobile content network.

We are one of only UK clients, as a US company, and as such want to help better please me by expand to europe and letting me choose were they want the focus to be, ie. countries and phone carriers.
They work via sending them directly to the mobile, charges are done to the carrier, then we get paid.

Problem is, I know it's normal to have alot of companies/sites sell your games, and with them only covering US market, we need to fill the holes for my buddies back nearer to home. Aswell as give people as many options as possible.

Past that, theirs lots of different ways to sell the game and get it out there.
-1 As mentioned already, direct to phone, bought and billed through the person carrier.
-2 Bought often by paypal or CC and downloaded to pc for a cable transfer to the phone in Jar format.
-3 Free games, but with ad's, and you get a cut from those ad's revenue, rather than the games initial sale. Method of getting the game could be done by either mentioned methods above.

All 3 have their advantages/disadvantages.

1. Easiest for the customer, but limited by carrier supporting letting the distributor, so limiting global support and cuts your profits with the carrier's "expenses".
2. Works everywere. Unfortunally, too many people still don't like using these details online, combined with the mystery/pain of less and less phones being bundled with cables today.
3. Free, but ad's could be annoying, also getting paid on these is alittle unpredictable.

So best thing to do, do all of them, give the customer the choice. Hardest for me to have setup, but oh well thats life.

^_^

My son is currently employed as a temporary contract tester for a cell-phone game company. It's name is Oberon, I believe. There are a bunch of such companies with some kind of facility around where I live, almost all of which have some multinational affiliation. I'll ask him if he knows any more names.

Virgin really like new things....I think they have like an ideas/invention section on theie website....worth a look.

Your not the only one who is hating Java :P but oh well, phones atm use java ME so I have to deal with it.

Site is in the process of being updated with the new look, so take a look tell me what you think.

Thanks guys and girls. :D:lol:
