I have found an instance where Europeans are more complicated than Americans!

Yes, for years Americans have been flaunted for being different because their systems are just plain weird. Europe uses the meter and kilometer, and so on, which are all factors of 10, while the U.S. uses the mile, inch, and yard, which are factor of nothing easy to remember. Europe uses Celcius (Centigrade) which is easy to remember (0 is freezing) whereas Americans use Farenheight (32 is freezing). Europeans use the Euro, which is by far stronger and much cooler than the dollar.

But now, i have discovered an instance where the European version is not better than the american version! Yes, Sales Tax! Or at least that is how American's call it. In europe, it is V.A.T. I don't know what that stands for, but it is much easier to remember Sales Tax than what V.A.T. stands for. So take that Europe, Sales Tax > V.A.T.!!!!

we dont use meters and kilometers in england.......all the road signs for example are stated in miles, and our speedeometers in our cars are rated by miles per hour.....

and yes VAT is teh ghey

Yeah well, with the inflation rate of the Euro, it wont be long before the US dollar is greater. as of now 1 Euro = 0.80 dollars

Seriously? I thought everyone but America used metric.

I thought Canada used metric because the Brits did..go figure...

Interesting Canadian Factoid, most of our language follows the lead of Great Britain; i.e Honour, Harbour etc, but when it comes to words like Center, we spell it Centre, but its pronounced the same (its a French thing). On a side note, the more Americanized we become the more the new generations use the American spellings for things, dont see alot of extra "u"'s from todays young people anymore.

Least the majority of our prices include VAT.

The thing i could never undertand about the states when i was there was when i bought a t shirt it would be priced 1 thing on the rack then when you got to the till you would add the sales tax on top but never put the sales tax price on the clothing or anything else
