they can always reduce subscription charges or even make it free and just use advertisement...i dont think NGE SWG will be going away anytime soon.

Having a Starbucks billboard as soon as you go out of Bestine Starport is not Star Wasy.
[/b]
Well, not until Lucas makes the 30th Anniversary Ultimate Edition anyway.

What billboards in the middle of space, just like EVE? Of course, EVE has it's own newspaper and advertising so you can immerse in the game completely.

Just curious.

bi/curious?

on topic: I say forever, even after all of mankind is destroyed.

It'll go on for a while. EverQuest is hella old compared to SWG and is still goin...hell look at UO. They'll probably pull the plug on it if they come out with an SWG II, but I doubt that would be any better as Lucas would probably make you buy a subscription to SWG, buy every version of Star Wars produced, and sacrafice your first born to be able to play it. After all that, he'd let them develope the NNGE (New New Game Enhancement).

They still have a ways to go, and obvious cost saving steps to take before we can say the game is going to end.

I'll say 1-2 years.

NGE has potential though.

[/b]
I fail to see any. The reason for the CU, and eventually NGE aside from making jedi easier and easier was to fix the unfixable "balance" issue.

Balance is still an issue. Any time you give someone the ability to lay down a mine that takes away 3/4s your health and AoE splash a group to death, or run away from combat nonstop, or be invisible, or have first strike, or have 3 heals and descent power there will be balance issues.

Add onto that that there are as many if not more bugs than before, lag and the playerbase are shit...and you have quite limited potential.

The expertise is alright, but the combat, lag, people, grind, bugs are all a reason that I think the game lacks potential.

Just for fun one more time...potential

That's pretty accurate.

I'd also say, that even with any amount of debateable potential, SWG doesn't have the potential to be better than it was pre-cu, so it's a lost cause.

If their new galaxy experience does not make it big for the christmas season then i have a feeling it will shutdown sooner than later. I give it 6-12 if that happens. if not then 1-2 years

The Matrix Online uses real advertisment on their posters. They had Warner Bros movies shown on them for a while.
They recently had an event with a sports clothing company as a sponsor. Even special related clothes to buy.
They've just let players design some adverts for the billboards in game too. B)

SWG sucks now, I give it 0-3 months, but it'll probably go longer because so many people don't care that it sucks.

But matrix is based on the real world, Star Wars no.

SWG may die, but emu will survive! [/b]

That would constitute that there is an emu.
