Hey Stav, looks like Blockbuster online is about to be pwned

I call BS. They can't sew them for copywrite of services. If BB took their actual software and used it, maybe. But services?

Actually it revolves even more about the technical concept than the service. They had to "invent" a psuedo automagic distribtution and packaging service for DVDs which didn't exist before, and wrapped a service around it. That is what they are more suing for.

by the time that makes it to court, and by the time a resolution is made, it will be at least 1-2 years down the road MINIMUM. so not for long is actually pretty long :D

Or they just settle out of court in under a year. Most likely Netflix will file an injunction to keep Blockbuster from proceeding in it's buisness practice within the next few months if a settlement is not reached. So the injunction should be enforced within a year. You are right that a trial of this stature can last over seven years, but again, that is what injunctions are for.

Better start copying faster.

I can't wait until downloading is much faster. It would be awesome to be able to download any movie off there list at any time. I'd pay a monthly fee to have my hands on that many movies. (by download i don't mean keep, just like streaming i guess)

QFMFE. why spend $5- $8 renting then movie when you can usually buy 4 for $20 at the movie places? sure they maybe used, but most places, like Blockbuster and Movie Gallery, have lifetime return/exchange on their preveiwed movies.

For $17.99 a month, i get 4 free movie rentals plus unlimited mail-rentals at 3 at a time. So in theory, i can get 16 DVDs a month for $17.99. Add $30 for a 100 DVD-R spindle, and you're actually paying less than actually buying the movies ;)
