I never got into the Simpsons... but yeah South Park trumps all. I did like The Critic but it got old at times.

I don't watch South Park or Family Guy, they both seem to take to much time making fun and disrespecting the religions of the world. ( South Park has pretty much made fun of every major religion on earth and Family Guy seems to have a revolving theme that constantly pokes fun at the idea of God and of Jesus ).

yeah thats why its great because they are right most of the time

No they are often far from the mark on both shows.

Actually South Park is almost always dead on accurate (watch the Jewish Camp, Mormon, Scientology episodes for example) but then take real life issues and twist them into their own f-ed up little universe.

Hate them because they are completely offensive, not because they are "off the mark".

P.S. They also made fun of atheists and agnostics.

I like the fairly accurate, sarcastic/cynical approach that both south park and family guy have towards society/religion/politics/anything today.

I can understand why people wouldn't like them. It is a mix between the harshness of the shows plus the lack of the individual watching it being able to accept that what they say is true, so they just claim it is vulgar and unintelligent.

Wow you guys made my thread into a discussion, lol that must have been a tough task. :p

Fluffy the show is not that accurate. It usually portrays the commonly held foibles about various religions but that doesn't make it accurate. I have seen the Jewish Camp one and I found it offensive and I'm not Jewish, I have not seen the Mormon or Scientology ones but if they are done with the same level of detail to their respective religions as the Jewish Camp, I'll pass.

It doesn't matter if they make fun of everyone, they shouldn't make fun of any religion or set of beliefs. Let people worship who they want, what they want and where they want so long as it does not endanger or infringe upon the lives of others.

It's a cartoon.

Hate it or love it.

You're right, when they broke out a huge Tron reference (MCP FTW!!!) then yeah they stop portraying true Jewish camp rituals, but the campfire, singing, dradel making and stories fit all along with the traditional Jewish camp.

So, if you took the MCP as them accurately portraying Jewish camp and not a hysterical parody, then man, your sense of humor has gone missing.

They aren't endangering or infringing anyone from worshiping however they see fit, how do you get that from South Park? If you can't make fun of religion, then what can you make fun of?

Oh, here's the episode recap.

Why not? If a cartoon is going to upset you or make you rethink your beliefs then you have issues to deal with other than worrying over some cartoon.
