dance pad usb problems

Ok here is my problem. I just bought a Red octane ignition dance pad 3.0 and it doesn't work correctly on my computer, but yet works perfect on my ps2 and my friends computer. When I try and use it on my computer the pad is slow to register and often times the pad sticks and keeps saying that the button is being hit. This pad says that it doesn't need a driver but I was wondering if it did or not. Personally I was wondering if it was something wrong with my usb drivers, but i honestly don't know how to update them. Can anyone think of anything?

Well have you tried to do an "Update driver" or just try to install the driver that came with the CD instead of letting your computer use its own driver?

See the thing is that this pad is suppose to be "plug and play". It doesn't come with a driver and it says it should need one. This is really frustrating because I paid 80 bucks for it and I can't use it on my computer, but its works awesome on everyone elses. I don't know what the problem is. i even had the resident computer tech look at it for me and he doesnt know what the problem is either (although I don't know how qualified they are).

Regardless if it is plug and play it still uses a driver to operate, especially if going through the USB port.

something that I don't have then
i've just plugged it in to other peoples computers and it works great as soon as it is plugged in

Okay, I just scoured the internet and I have to ask, what O/S are you running on your PC, cause the latest versions of Windows XP show no problems at all...

i am using windows xp pro
[/b]

SP1, SP2, no SP?

SP = service pack (just in case)

i am pretty sure i have service pack 2, but how to a double check?
[/b]

Go to the control panel, and open "System". In that window look into the "General" tab, it should have the O/S and SP listed there.

Okay, so you system does recognize it, but it just acts really slowly, do the left and right buttons act like they are being hit even if you are not moving?
