I get home yesterday, brain fried, wanting to relax, play wow a little. But NO! Cable, Internet, Phone, and half my electricity gone!
My landlord gives me this box with AT&T/Yahoo modem and my service and initial costs (around $50 bucks) of a DSL system which I didn't order. So I call AT&T and talk to a guy, I say I didn't authorize the DSL because I have CABLE with COMCAST and I'm SATISFIED with their service. I made sure those words were burned into this guy's brain by repeating them over and over. The guy gets annoyed and calls his manager (a girl), I talk to her about my problem. She says that the cost of disabling the system before the year of service is $99 bucks. BUT I DIDN'T AUTHORIZE THE M****R F*****G SERVICE. She says that I should calm down and call later. I tell her that my lawyer will be contacting them tomorrow. This is with the Internet CSRs and Manager.
Then I get transfered to the Home Local Service of AT&T (I'm doing calls from my cell cause my phone service is down as well) and ask why my service is down. They say service in my area is ok. That they can send a technician for $45 of extra charge to check the lines and home equipment. I say ok.
Then I call Comcast to see what's up with cable, they say the service in my area is ok. That they will send a Technician to verify my equipment and trace the problem. Another $45 just to have the technician come here.
Then I call my local electricity company to see what's up with 110 going out on me (that's half the service, everything on the floor was working fine). They say service should be ok in my area. That they could send a technician to check. (yet another $45 bucks)
I go to my landlord today (I'm a renter in an apartment building on a gated community) so they know what's going on and to let them pass. She says that they made repairs to the roof of the building yesterday morning. So I say to my landlord 'Oh! so if the handywoman (yes it's a girl and she practically has been repairing everything for the past 10 years) had something to do with my service interruption that they will get the billing information of all the techs.'
I talk to my lawyer today and he asks for my phone transcripts so I can prove they did me wrong when I said I didn't want they DSL offer. I call AT&T right now, and just imagine what they say... 'We lost the transcript information for your account.' I was 'YOU LOST IT? REALLY?!' (Because of some issues I had with AT&T about 3 years ago I tape all my conversations with them, and I TELL THEM when we start talking so they know. Like we said in spanish, "Sobre aviso no hay enga?o" (that would roughly translate to, 'There are no fools with a warning'). So now I'm sueing AT&T.
