American Income Tax: Voluntary, not Mandatory?

All this does is get more people in debt or locked away in jail. There used to be a company next to mine that hired lawyers and "experts" so they could fight not paying taxes. This was a buisiness owned by a group or brothers. They did everything required, filed all the paperwork, converted thier LLC to trust company, etc. For years the government didn't do anything but hassle them. Police and investegators were showing up 3-4 times week. Bad for business and the government knew that. They faught this to the very end....and in the end, well they have 2 more years left on a 5 year prison sentence.

While it is true the IRS is seperate from the US government and has no actually authority, you do have to still pay taxes or pay teh consequences.
